Infrared & Night Vision: By removing the standard IR filter, the module absorbs near-infrared light waves. When paired with external, invisible infrared LED illuminators, it can capture clean footage in complete darkness without producing any visible glare.
Daytime Color Distortion: Because it lacks an IR-blocking filter, normal daylight photos will exhibit a distinct red or pink hue. This behavior is completely normal and intended. Many authorized distributors, like PiShop.ca, bundle a blue gel filter square in the package to aid in certain lighting scenarios or plant health monitoring.
